Our relationship counsellors
At Relationship Works, you have access to a collaborative team of over 20 trained and qualified relationship specialists who are committed to helping everyone who seeks support - whatever your background, circumstances, or ability to pay.
All our counsellors have received specialist training in relationship counselling, and many have additional expertise in sex therapy or family counselling. In addition, many hold degrees, masters and post-graduate qualifications in psychology, psychotherapy, and related fields.
But qualifications are just the foundation. What sets our team apart is how we work.
How we work: collaboration and quality assurance
We work collaboratively, not in isolation. Our counsellors share insights through regular supervision and peer consultation, which means you benefit from quality assurance built into every session. We share insights and support each other through:
Monthly individual supervision: every counsellor reviews their practice with an experienced supervisor to ensure the highest quality care.
Group supervision: collaborative learning and consultation on challenging situations.
Annual mandatory training: plus a minimum of 30 hours ongoing professional development each year.
This means every counsellor you work with has access to expert guidance and peer support - and you benefit from that collective wisdom and assurance of high ethical standards.
Clinical leadership: quality you can trust
Behind every session is expert oversight. Our team is led by four experienced clinical supervisors, Mary Everett, Rachel Davies, Barbara Kenton, and Theresa Halliwell, who guide our counsellors, review practice, and ensure consistent, high-quality care across all our services.
