    Sex Therapy
Bristol, Bath, online
Sex therapy in the Bristol and Bath area. Working together for fulfilling, connected, intimate lives.
Come alone or together. All concerns, all relationships welcome.
What is Sex Therapy?
Sexual issues are more common than you might think — from low desire and anxiety to pain, performance concerns, or feeling disconnected from intimacy.
Sex therapy (psychosexual therapy) addresses the physical, emotional, and psychological aspects of sexual wellbeing. Our trained therapists create a safe, confidential space to explore what's happening and find practical solutions.
With over 50 years of experience, we work at your pace, without judgement, to help you build the intimate life you want.
What sort of issues can Sex Therapy help with?
People seek sex therapy for many reasons, from specific physical concerns to broader feelings about intimacy and connection.
Common issues we help with include:
Mismatched desire or different levels of interest
Difficulty with arousal or maintaining erections
Pain during sex
Concerns about orgasm - struggling to reach one or climaxing too quickly
Loss of interest or enjoyment
Performance anxiety
Recovering intimacy after illness, childbirth, or trauma
Compulsive sexual behaviour
Exploring what fulfilling sex means for you
Whatever you're facing, our sex therapists work with you to understand what's happening and find practical ways to help you reconnect with pleasure and intimacy. For some issues they may suggest you contact your GP.
See our blog “Can I Talk About Sex with my Counsellor” for more information.

    What happens in Sex Therapy?
Your first session
Your sex therapist will take time to understand what's happening - what concerns you're facing, how they're affecting you, and what you'd like to change. This conversation helps shape the right approach for you.
Coming as a couple?
You'll explore whether relationship dynamics, communication patterns, or unresolved tensions might be playing a role. While it's helpful for both partners to attend, you can also come alone if that works better.
Our approach
All the work in the therapy room is done through talk. Your sex therapist will create a personalised plan of exercises to try at home, at your own pace. These might involve exploring your own body, reconnecting with sensations, or rebuilding intimacy with a partner.
At each session, you'll discuss what's working, what's challenging, and adjust the approach as needed. Most people meet weekly, though the pace depends on you. You may feel a bit awkward at first but your sex therapist will put you at ease and support you throughout the process.
How much does Sex Therapy cost?
As a charity, we aim to keep costs accessible. For Sex Therapy, the initial assessment is £68.
Ongoing session fees are then agreed with your therapist, and we work with you to find a rate that's sustainable for you.
